Social Media Monday (Vol 1, No 17)
Simple Analytics
Every state social media manager should have a system to measure the success of their program. There are many third party resources available to assist you with this and some of them are free of charge. 48ers.com boasts that their search options allow you to “tap into the public mood”. This is a handy tool when building your followers and gaining a sense of sentiment. Try SocialMention.com for a more indepth look at what people are saying about your program. Remember to play with keywords until you decide which ones are the best measure of your program focus.
Facebook provides very basic metrics to it’s users through their ‘view insights’ link. Here you will find information targeted to general page overviews, user data and interactions. It is a good practice to set up a simple spreadsheet tracking essential data. Get in the habit of updating your metric spreadsheet frequently and sharing the data with your leadership group.
Industry News:

We are promoting #MDEats this month. When you are talking about all things local and food oriented, please add this hastag. There will not be a newsletter next Monday as I am heading on vacation!
Have a great couple of weeks!
