October is National Energy Awareness Month! Here’s how you can help support this state initiative.
1. Have State agencies participate in National Energy Awareness Month (October) – Larissa will provide you with materials to share with your members:
a) Banner for your webpage
b) Blurb for your newsletter abut the month
c) Posters for you to hang at your sites
d) Activities for your educators to do with kids at the site
2. Spread the Word about the EmPOWER Rangers Name Contest – The EmPOWER Rangers have been created to teach youth (and adults) about the different types of energy sources that provide us with electricity in Maryland (there is a flyer attached). The problem is that the EmPOWER Rangers are NAMELESS so we need your help – a Ranger without a name is like ice cream without a cone, peanut butter without jelly, macaroni without cheese!!
You can go online and submit your name suggestions until September 30th and then we will be voting in October for their names:http://climatechange.maryland.gov/what-can-you-do/
Contact Larissa (larissa.johnson@maryland.gov) for any questions or comments.
