Fall Maryland State Social Media Manager’s Meeting Wrap Up
Thank you to all who took the time to not only attend our latest conference but to provide feedback on our event. It is my desire to make these meetings opportunities to learn but more importantly chances for you all to connect in person. Over the next few months, I will respond to some of your suggestions through this blog but for now, here is an overview of your comments:
- Everyone found the day to be helpful, if not extremely helpful. After the planning involved, I am glad!
- There was widespread appreciation for all of the presenters with Sherry Llewellyn’s debrief on the Columbia Mall shooting edging out Facebook as the most useful presentation. This tells me that you want more case studies as well as representatives from the social media networks that we all utilize.
- The HootSuite presentation should have been performed on the actual dashboard as many of your felt like you needed more useful tips. I will try and invite them back next time to better show the functionality of HootSuite. If you would like a personal webinar on HootSuite, I can arrange it for you. Just let me know.
Topics you would like for us to explore in the Spring:
- Setting goals and understanding analytics. Awesome suggestion!
- Break out sessions so that you can work together in small groups. I like this too.
- Leadership buy in.
- Using social media for media monitoring
- More agencies sharing best practices. Will do!
- Desire for a Twitter rep to attend. They have tentatively agreed to a Friday in March.
- More…I will address some of these over the next few months in this blog.
