Social Media Monday (Vol. 5, No. 2)
February 2, 2015
Good afternoon and Happy #Groundhog Day!
The bad news? The little PA fur ball predicted 6 more weeks of winter.
The good news? He’s only right 39% of the time so get ready to burn those socks! Spring is on the way.

Twitter News:
The New Year has brought a couple of changes to Twitter that you may find useful, the first being group direct message. Have you wanted to reach out to multiple sister accounts to encourage them to share your latest social pearl? Send a single message through a group DM. It’s easy. Give it a try.
The second addition will help you expand the creation and application of those all-important short shelf life videos on Twitter. You can now create, edit and share videos directly on the Twitter app. Have you posted one yet using this new feature? If so, send me the tweet so that I can a share it with our other state social media account managers.
HootSuite Enterprise
Many of our press offices have seen changes in the past month. If you know of a seat holder within our Enterprise platform that is no longer working in your communication shop, please let me know. In addition, if there is a new face managing your social media efforts, send me their name and email address so that we can include them on our state HootSuite Enterprise team.
Extend Your Reach By Sharing Your Campaign Information Here
Remember that Social Media Monday is the place where you are able to share important agency campaigns with your fellow state social media managers. Many of our communication teams are unable to carve off funds for social ad campaigns so our combined reach becomes a powerful tool to gain organic reach.
Send me the details of the campaign along with links and suggested posts as early as possible so that we can disperse the information early and often.
